Gillet (Anderson): Studies for the advanced teaching of the oboe
Code: JP7008Grade: 8-9
Publisher: Jeanne Inc.
This new edition, edited by Valarie Anderson, is based on the original 1909 publication of George Gillet's Studies for the Advanced Teaching of the Oboe. It should be noted that in the 1936 edition, several of the studies were modified by Fernand Gillet. In addition to the 25 technical studies, the original publication also included extensive scale studies in all keys. These have been reintroduced in our edition. In his classes at the Paris Conservatory, Gillet used the methods of Barret, Ferling, and Brod. As the technical demands of the repertoire increased and the mechanical capabilities of the instrument improved, Gillet found the need for teaching materials at a higher level of difficulty to prepare his students for their future craeers, which led him to write these studies.
