Osvaldo Lacerda

Osvaldo Lacerda (1927-2011) is a native of Sao Paulo. He studied composition with Guarnieri from 1952 to 1962. In 1963 he studied with Vittorio Giannini and Aaron Copland as a Guggenheim Fellow in New York. He has written many works for piano, orchestra, chorus and chamber ensembles and has taught at various schools of music in Sao Paulo. He was president of the Centro de Musica Brasileira since 1974.
