Ponderings from the Pond was conceived one summer's night in a North Dakota campground, while listening to the "dialogue" of the frogs in the nearby pond. It begins with a section entitled "Frog Talk", a dialogue between contrabassoon and piano. The conversation continues with humor, moves into song and ponderings, and ends playfully with the frog having the last word. Duration 6.5 minutes. This work is recorded by Susan Nigro.
